Sending and Reception of email messages with SSL
With Aruba you can set on several email clients the accounts connected to your own domain (that is [email protected]) using the protected connection through SSL.
All those who would like to use the secure SSL protocol must enter the following parameters:
- Account name: [email protected]
- Password: password selected during the account creation
- POP3: pop3s.aruba.it
- SMTP: smtps.aruba.it
Also the following fields must be selected:
The server needs a protected SSL connection: this option must be selected among the Advanced settings for the accounts configuration as for the POP3 inbound email server and the SMTP outbound mail. After having selected this option, checking that the port used for the connection through POP3 is 995 and that the port used for the connection through SMTP is 465.
Necessary server authentication (for the outbound email server): such setting is on the ‘Server’ form for the accounts configuration*
* Necessary server authentication: you can find this field on the most used clients such as Outlook or Outlook Express, near the field you have to fill in with the smtp parameter; on other clients could be named in a different way, but however it is among the options of the section for the accounts configuration.
N.B. At the moment, it is not possible for you to use the SSL certificate for SMTP outbound email.
