London 15 June 2026 – Aruba, one of Italy’s leading providers of cloud, data centre and digital services, and Megaport, the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), announce the activation of two Points of Presence (PoPs) at the IT3 data centre in Ponte San Pietro and the IT4 data centre in Rome. The collaboration expands access opportunities to cloud services and global networks, broadening customer choice within an open, carrier-neutral ecosystem.
Made official during the Monza stop of Megaport’s European tour, the integration further expands the private, on-demand and software-defined cloud connectivity options available within Aruba’s infrastructures, enabling access to leading cloud providers and a global ecosystem of data centres and operators.
The activation makes it possible to create and manage network connections with extremely fast and efficient provisioning times. Customers can also access a global ecosystem of over 1,100 enabled data centres and 410 service providers worldwide, in addition to a broad suite of cloud, data centre and edge solutions supporting a variety of use cases for enterprise networks. The collaboration reflects the convergence of two growing market trends: the increasing need for distributed architectures and the demand for infrastructure that ensures data control and freedom of choice.
Megaport’s presence within Aruba’s data centres also represents a further development of Aruba’s carrier-neutral approach to connectivity. By hosting independent operators, carriers and service providers within the same ecosystem, Aruba helps create an open and interconnected environment where customers and partners can choose the solutions that best meet their needs. The activation involves the Ponte San Pietro data centre campus, built through the redevelopment of the former Legler industrial area, further expanding the interconnection and collaboration opportunities available within the Aruba ecosystem. The second PoP is active in the Rome data centre campus, contributing to the creation of a strategic digital and telco hub for Central and Southern Italy, in support of increasingly connected infrastructures, as well as hybrid and multicloud models.
This integration between European data centre infrastructures and next-generation networks is part of Aruba’s strategy aimed at building an open, neutral and interconnected ecosystem capable of enabling innovative services across the territory, benefitting businesses, operators and service providers.
